Each year, the GA Squash team enter the National Championships being the team that opponents have their sights set on defeating. However, for the past 7 consecutive national tournaments in a row, the incredible female athletes lead by Luke, Jamie and Arturo, have been victorious. Solidifying the GA Squash motto that we are stronger, together.

Greenwich Academy Lifts Eighth Consecutive Patterson Cup!

2023 National Champions


GA made it seven consecutive national titles by beating Baldwin 5-2 in the final at the Arlen Specter Center in Philadelphia.

2022 National Champions


GA entered the tournament as underdogs for the first national championship weekend in many years.

”The division one finals came down to the wire on both ends of the Specter Center and were a testament to team squash.”

2020 National Champions


GA clinched their fifth consecutive national title at Trinity College in Hartford by beating Agnes Irwin 5-2 in the final.

”The streak is five and counting and the overall titles is now 13. Indeed, the numbers keep adding up every time the Greenwich Academy squash team visits Trinity College in Hartford to compete in the U.S. High School Team Championships.”

2019 National Champions


GA retruned to Trinity College for the first time since losing the National Title in 2015 and didn’t let history phase them as they beat Agnes Irwin comfortably 5-2 in the final.

2018 National Champions


GA clinched their third National title at the Philadelphia Cricket Club by beating Agnes Irwin 6-1 in the final match.

”For head coach Luke Butterworth and the Greenwich Academy squash team, winning the HEAD U.S. High School Team Squash Championships last weekend for the 11th time as a program was just as special as all the previous times.”

2017 National Champions


Avon Old Farms in Simsbury CT held host to the National Championships that saw GA beat Baldwin 6-1 in the final.

”The Gators captured national title No. 10 Sunday, recording a convincing 6-1 victory over The Baldwin School (Bryn Mawr, Pa.) in the championship match of the tournament’s Division I bracket.”
