Luke is the current Head Men's Junior National Coach for TEAM USA and has represented them at the 2019 and 2022 World Junior Championships in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and Nancy, France respectively.

Prior to joining the Greenwich community, Luke was previously the Head Coach of the Paraguay National Squash Team. During that role, Luke successfully lead the Paraguay team to a historic medal at the 2011 Pan American Games in Guadalajara, Mexico.

Alongside being the founder of LBSQUASH, Luke is the proud Director of Squash for Greenwich Academy. He has lead the team to 7 consecutive National Championships and is vying for more!

“I love squash because of its amazing community. It’s an incredible game played all over the world, and I’m lucky to be a part of it!”

Favorite Squash Memory:

Winning the medal at the Pan American Games is something I’ll never forget! Coaching Nick Spizzirri since he was 8 years old and being able to watch him play at the World Junior Championships and British Open’s is also a huge highlight of my career.

When I’m not on the court, I’m:

Watching Huddersfield Town, relaxing at home with our mascot, Bruce, or socializing with my family and friends!

 THE LBSQUASH TEAM

Our team of squash professionals.

Jamie Sutcliffe

  • A former PSA Tour competitor, Jamie Sutcliffe has worked with nationally ranked juniors, college athletes and skill level adults for the past 15 years.

Jamie is going into his ninth season at Greenwich Academy where in his first season, he helped coach the GA team to regain the National Championship title. Jamie also lead TEAM USA to the Battle of the Border title in the summer of 2017 and has been part of the coaching team on the US Squash Academy.

Alongside being an excellent squash coach, Jamie has a wealth of experience in strength and conditioning, which he studied at university in England. Jamie was the National College Champion as a junior.

“I love squash, it is the ultimate challenge for both your mind and body. Everyday throws something new at you, whether it be in training or at a tournament. It constantly challenges you to change and adapt.”

  • Squash has given me a lifetime of great memories, so it is hard to pick just one! If pressed, I would have to say winning the individual college championship for the first time. Or winning the Yorkshire Cup with Huddersfield.

  • I like to travel the world, spend time with my friends and family, and follow my second love, Everton Football Club!

Arturo Barreto

  • Originally from Mexico City, Arturo Barreto comes from a family of great squash players and was mentored by his uncle, who was the former President of the Mexican Squash Federation and a former national player.

Arturo grew up playing squash at his uncle’s club and has had the opportunity to meet and learn from the best players in the industry. He and his family used to run the “Mexican Open’’ which was held for several years and brought the world's top players into his home.

Arturo had an extremely successful junior career, reaching the highest ranking of 5 in Mexico. Aged 19, Arturo moved to the USA to climb up the PSA rankings and fell in love with helping others to improve their game.

Over his 10 years of coaching, Arturo has produced some of the most successful juniors in the country, including players with several national and international titles.

“I love squash because it has given me some of my best friends, friends who have become my family”

  • Squash has such a great community, which has given me some of my best friends. Traveling to tournaments with these friends, especially those long bus rides, holds many unforgettable memories for me.

I also think that the feeling of winning a tournament will always be a favorite of mine - when you are out there, physically and mentally pushing yourself to the limit, followed by the rush of dopamine after winning that victorious point is unexplainable.

  • Spending time with friends, some of whom I have grown up playing squash with in Mexico, and some from many different countries. It is the beauty of the sport. You make many friends from all around the globe. Friends who become family.
